The Walls that surround us

UV 410-10,000 Isaiah 49 v 16 The walls that surround us Isa 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me We sometimes hurriedly write on our palms certain names and their particulars so that we will not forget it. It gets erased in a short time. When we completed our training, our trainer got our names inscribed on brass plates on the fort wall through which we marched out. Similarly, the Lord has not just written but engraved with His own blood our names on His palms. A mother would find it difficult to forget the child she bears. But, even a mother might forget her children at times but the Lord remembers us at all times. He relishes the moments we spend with Him. He keeps an account of the tasks we attempt for Him. He will reward and compensate us at due time in His own inimitable way. Walls are a symbol of security. The presence of the Lord is like walls around us. The Lord raises up His divine protection around us like walls that surround us. He raises up a strong fencing around us as we depend on Him. His love too surrounds us like walls. His eyes are also upon the walls of our homes on a continual basis. When we continually pray and praise God, the walls of the presence of the Lord will keep growing in height and strength around us. He also closes up some walls or blocks our way so that we do not take that path. Walls can also be an obstruction or obstacle in our progress. The Lord also sees the walls that the enemy builds to block our progress. He will open a door through these walls of opposition and resistance. Unlike the walls of our homes, the walls of the Lord ‘s love and protection move with us. His walls keeps out what should be kept out and keeps in what should be kept in. These are not walls to constrain us or to bind us but walls to give us freedom. We must always turn to these walls of the Lord’s presence often to pray. When we stop having fellowship with the Lord, when we stop praying and imbibing the Word, when we stop having fellowship with other believers, the walls begin to crumble and develop cracks and holes. The Lord also builds each of us to be a bronzen wall in our nations for the building of His Kingdom, to establish His reign and rule in the hearts of mankind, to afford protection to the weak and needy.
