A Level Walking Path

UV 948-10,000 A Level Walking Path The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Isaiah 26 v 7 When we spend time in the praying field, He makes our playing field level. Our playing field is the area of our life’s work, our major challenges and priorities in life. The implication is that the path of the unrighteous is far from level, the way of the unrighteous is far from smooth. Our faith makes us righteous in the sight of God and that quality alone is sufficient to win the favour of the Lord. He does not take away the fight from us, He does not take away the need for us to walk the path but He will remove the obstacles, visible and invisible, that the enemy of our souls places in our way. God did not take away the need for David to fend his sheep from the lion and the bear. He gave him the courage and strength to overcome these challenges. He did not take away the threats of Goliath but He knew that left to himself David would be easily defeated and killed by the giant. He poured His spirit upon David so that He grew in spiritual terms to the physical level and strength of Goliath. He gave Him wisdom and knowledge and skills not to use the conventional means of fighting of trained soldiers. Faith breaks through our mental conditioning and gives us supernatural ideas and means beyond our training and natural abilities. The Lord always uses what we already have in our hands. He asked Moses, “ What do you have in your hands?” He replied , “ A staff.” He enabled the timid, diffident, reluctant, stammering and stuttering Moses to use that staff against Pharaoh and his mighty empire and army. He asked the disciples, “ what do you have on hand to feed the multitude?” They replied, “ A boy here has five loaves and two fish.” He caused the supernatural multiplication of the natural. David had a sling and five smooth stones in his pouch. He gave him the courage and wisdom to use his natural skills as a shepherd to deliver a knock out blow to the giant. The Lord is the upright One. He hates the ways of the devious. He makes our ways upright. The Word does not say, “ He cuts short our paths or gives us short cuts.” It does not say, “He makes our paths easy. He makes our paths smooth. He does not make it easy but He makes it possible. He does not take away the need for us to travel or walk step by step and day by day, challenge by challenge. But He adds His supernatural wisdom, grace and resources to make for us a level playing field. If He could split the mighty Red Sea with a wind that He blew,He could have blown off Pharaoh and his army with His breath, He could have slain Goliath Himself, He could have taken away the need for His beloved Son Jesus to die on the cross when He cried out but He desires not only to give us a level playing field but He also wants to give us a story to tell, a testimony of faith and the victory it engenders.
