Set Free

UV 1639/10000 Set Free
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8 v 32
When Pilate asked Jesus, “What is the truth?”, he little realized that Truth Himself personified and embodied in Jesus was standing just a few feet from him. Truth as an abstraction is difficult to perceive, comprehend or grasp. But when Truth walks in flesh and blood, it becomes possible and easy to perceive, know, comprehend and apply. When we know Jesus as the Truth, we are set free from the fear of death and the bondage of sin and death. We are set free from our love of folly and evil. We are set free from the fear of disease. We are set free from the fear of failure. We are set free from our spiritual poverty. We are set free from blindness. We are set free from curses and limitations. We are set free from strife and misery. We are set free to realize and utilize our full potential for the limitless glory of God. We are set free from the power of the enemy of our soul. We are set free from the limitations and constraints of human traditions. We are set free from the power of dead habit. We experience true and inner freedom.
We are set free to live forever and to live fully and abundantly. We are set free to experience grace and peace. We are set free to know the Word and continue in the Word. The Word is perfect and is the law of liberty. The law is meant to imprison the wrong doers while the Word is meant to set free the wrong doers. Knowing the truth and living according to it is wisdom. We find rest or liberty for the soul in the Word of truth.
The words, “ ye shall” implies the act of knowing the truth is not a “once and for all” act or experience but a growing or progressive understanding and relationship with Jesus and the Word. The Word sets us free from the world. It separates us from the world as God separated the light from darkness at the genesis of time. The Word sets us free from our own self and our concerns, worries and obsessions. The Word sets us free to make us fulfil the purpose, will and expectations of the Lord. The Word breaks every chain in our lives- emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual or attitudinal. The word sets us free to integrate our spirits, minds and bodies, our past, present and future. We are set free to be fruitful in holistic terms and not just the spiritual.
